Will I be with the same group of moms from week-to-week?

Yes! You will be with the same moms each week, so you can build strong relationships with one another.

Will the moms in my group have babies the same age as mine?

Yes! Please select the age of your baby for the start date on the Sign-Up page.

What if I am running late for a session?

You’re never too late! That is the beauty of zoom, even if you’re having a tough day, you can still join the community the group offers. The important thing is that you do come.

Can I breastfeed during the session?

Absolutely! Please do what is best for you and your baby during our sessions. If your baby is hungry, please breastfeed either on camera or off, whatever makes you most comfortable.

How do we communicate with mothers outside of our sessions?

After your group begins, one of your fellow group members will begin a WhatsApp group just for the moms in your group. It’s a great way to communicate and get advice around the clock. Moms say they keep these WhatsApp groups going for years!

What is a Certified Lactation Counselor? What is the difference between a IBCLC and a CLC?

Certified Lactation Counselors (CLC) are certified through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP). All CLCs are required to take a 45-hour course inclusive of seven exams including practical counseling exams and a final exam administered by the ALPP. All CLCs are trained to provide evidence-based breastfeeding support to their counseling. For more information, please visit https://www.alpp.org

The similarities are more plentiful than the differences for a CLC and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). Both are trained to provide lactation support. What do I do if I miss a session of my group?

No worries! Come to the next session and pick up where you left off. Après Birth does not offer refunds for missed sessions.

Is zoom secure, private and HIPAA compliant?

Yes. Après Birth uses the HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom.

How is breastfeeding support done virtually?

Meeting virtually allows us to see you and provide assistance, even when it is difficult to get out of the house and easily do follow-ups. We provide thorough assessments and evidence-based advice for your breastfeeding relationship. We even do consultations when moms are in the hospital post-birth. We get crafty with phone angles, and we are experienced in doing proper assessments virtually.

I already have a child(ren), are these sessions suitable for me?

Absolutely! We have many moms who have more than one child attend groups. There is always something new and different to share and more moms to meet. We have had moms do the newborn group for each of their children!

What is your refund policy?

All purchases are non-refundable, but reusable on other Apres Birth services. Please contact us at info@apresbirth.com with questions regarding re-booking services with credits.

What happens if less than 5 people sign up for a group?

Après Birth reserves the right to cancel a series if less than five (5) people sign up.
