About Après Birth

A baby does not come with a manual. Some things may come naturally to you. Some things may not. You may find yourself experiencing intense joy only to moments later feel a wave of emotions that leaves you in tears. You may enjoy the solitude with your baby while simultaneously feel isolated from the world around you. You may feel you are the only person experiencing this…you would be wrong.

Après Birth is a community for you as you begin your journey into motherhood. It is the part of your village that is experiencing parenthood in the same phase as you. We are here to empower you as you find your own unique voice as a parent, share in your joys and support you in your challenges.

Our system hasn’t found a way to help mothers through the everyday challenges of motherhood. Our system focuses on the well-being of our children and often assumes mothers just simply know what to do. From my experience, this often isn’t the case. Expert help is available, and I want mothers to be able to easily and comfortably access the support they seek. I want mothers to thrive, not just survive in motherhood.
Tiffany C. Bissey
About Tiffany
After 15 years in leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies worldwide, I thought I would take motherhood in stride. However, the unpredictability of motherhood—from waking every few hours to feed an infant to the patience needed to handle toddler meltdowns—shook me to my core. Even more surprising was the lack of support for parents after welcoming a baby home. I knew it had to change. Après Birth was born.

At Après Birth, through thoughtfully moderated support groups and lactation support sessions, we provide support to mothers of newborns through the toddler years. For years, I have led new parent series drawing upon my extensive background moderating groups and certifications in lactation counseling, positive psychology and pre and postnatal yoga.  My goal is to help you find connection with mothers and for you to find your own, unique voice in motherhood. Having lived and worked on three continents and across the US, Tiffany now lives with her husband and three children in the West Village of New York City, where she has provided parenting support for years.
